A fabulous crowd of family and friends joined me on December 4th to celebrate my very first Book Reading and Signing Party for Stretch Marks, my debut memoir. I basked in the love coming from all directions and distances! I was floating on the adulation after eight years of writing, doubting, revising, and doubting even more as completion drew near. It was wonderful to finally thank everyone present for encouraging me throughout the years!
Writing a book, much like raising a child, takes a village. I was thrilled to gaze upon Eanlai Cronin, Mary Howe, Ellen Reilly, and Alexandra Kennedy who are part of my writing village.
And to my family members and friends in far away places, who longed to be present, but couldn’t, just know that I felt your immense love and support!
Reading from my book was magical, (I know corny, but true.) and glorious to hear my words, my hard-won struggles prance out and dazzle the room. Locking eyes with my audience and knowing we are in the exact emotional moment was thrilling and I look forward to many more book events!
I’m also delighted that my memoir is available at the Santa Cruz Public Library.
